The Appearance

A nurse is neither a ravishing beauty nor is she a loathsome ugly. A nurse when in uniform is a different entity as far as her looks are concerned. So, how a person looks has little to do with her appearance and capability as a nurse. What are required are good grooming, a pleasing manner and a friendly disposition. Personal cleanliness is a must. So is personal grooming. How a nurse carries herself depends on the confidence she has as a nurse. And that confidence can come only when she has had good training as a nurse. We now take up some of the items of the dress one by one.

Every nurse has to wear shoes. This is to avoid contamination from infection as well as the facility of movement shoes offer. Sandals are out and so are slippers. As in the case of the dress, it is important that the shoes are white, clean and well maintained. The shoes must always be in good, wearing condition. In a nutshell, there should not be anything out of the ordinary in the appearance and condition of the shoes.
